UPCYCLED: Iconography of the Venezuelan Diaspora (2024)

UPCYCLED featured large-scale self-portraits of the artist, Camila Salcedo, wearing upcycled wearable artworks that reflect their Venezuelan pop culture including bills out of circulation, candy wrappers for ironically branded “Toronto” chocolates, Magallanes baseball jerseys, vintage postage stamps, and Harina PAN corn flour packages.

UPCYCLED by Camila Salcedo is commissioned as part of Ontario Culture Days' Creatives in Residence series and presented in partnership with The Toronto Public Library.
